There will be no further updates here. All future postings will be on our blog. This was an experiement to test the capabilities of Google Sites, and while it does a lot of things, it's just not a flexible as our Wordpress blog. Anything you can find here of interest is also linked on the blog so you won't miss out by not checking here in the future.
Our motorhome refrigerator died last month but we now have a new cooling unit installed and it's working better than ever. See the blog for lots more information.
The house should be ready for us to start moving furniture in later this week.
We've just updated the blog so see that for the details. We will be leaving Milwaukee on Sept. 16 and heading south to Texas. We have ordered a manufactured home to be installed on the lot in Oct.
After being unable to buy the house, Chuck and Marie graciously offered to sell our lot back to us and we accepted. So we're back to where we were last fall, but we still have a place to call home in Spring Branch and Chuck and Marie have a permanent invitation to stay there as well whenever they desire. We're now on the road to Milwaukee and should arrive there on Sunday, weather permitting.
The house purchase didn't work out so we're still on our old lot along with the new owners. They have allowed us to rent our site next fall when we return until we decide what our next move will be. We have several options to explore, and no hurry to decide what to do.
Yesterday we accepted an offer to buy our lot. Now starts the process of actual selling, then finding a mortgage for the new property and actual moving in. The latter probably won't happen until we return in the fall.
See our travel blog for an announcement regarding our future in Spring Branch.
Since arriving at home in Spring Branch on Oct. 25, we've been getting our various medical checkups done and just relaxing. Right now, we have no water heater as it sprung a leak and is in the shop having a new tank installed. We hope to have it back tomorrow or Tuesday. We're both back to volunteering at the library, of course.
We spent 9 days in Camp Verde with Don and Peg and then 4 days in Surprise seeing more friends, although some of the winter residents haven't returned yet. It was especially good to spend some time with our old friend Joe Lacey, who recently lost his wife. The next 3 nights we're in Tucson seeing friends at Mission View RV Resort. We have one more stop, in Sierra Vista, then it's on to home. We hope to be back in Spring Branch by Saturday, Oct. 27.
